History of the Great Wolf Lodge

By offering quality accommodations and family fun in one location, Great Wolf Lodge resorts have become a popular destination for vacationers. Each location features an indoor water park and a variety of suites and all-ages activities set in a North Woods-inspired atmosphere.

Great Wolf Lodge debuted in Wisconsin Dells, Wis., in 1997 with a 117-suite resort and a 20,000-square-foot indoor water park. The unique concept was so popular that after only two years, the site added 192 suites and doubled the size of its water park. Today, the resort boasts 437 suites and a 76,000-square-foot water park. Based on the success of the Wisconsin Dells location, Great Wolf Resorts opened a second location in Sandusky, Ohio, in 2001. The company also expanded its resort amenities, adding themed restaurants, arcades, spas and activities for the whole family. Today, Great Wolf Lodge has a total of 12 locations, 11 in the U.S. and one in Niagara Falls, Canada.
