History of Garnier
Laboratoire Garnier, opened in 1920, began manufacturing and marketing their plant-based products such as the lotions, energy-boost shampoos with natural extracts and their hair colorant. L’Oreal acquired Laboratoire Garnier in 1965. A a part of the L’Oreal Group, Laboratoire Garnier launched its first new product, the Garnier Ultra-Doux line of family shampoos, made from natural plant-based ingredients. The Garnier Fructis Hair care line was first launched in 1996. The line, which included shampoos, conditioners, gels, mousses, creams and sprays, was an instant success, thanks in part to their multicultural advertisements and the unique fruit concentrate enriching its formulas. Originally launched in Europe in 1998 under the name Natea. Garnier renamed the line Nutrisse and launched the nourishing hair color line in the United States. In 2005, Garnier launched a new line of skincare products called Nutritionist. The creation of these products were inspired by micronutrition findings, and they boast a formula with added magnesium and omegas 3 and 6.
